Ski tour, east face of Mt. Scott, May 2002

Glenn Widener

Huh you say? It's the high point in Crater Lake NP - a small peak just east of the crater rim. My tele-wacker ski bum buddies Bill Sanders and Adam Munhall scoped this little expedition out last year on dry land. The east face is a nice 200+ foot descent, almost 45 degrees at the top, but gradually easing off, until it hits a nice, fun, easy run through small (mostly painless) trees in a broad avalance chute.

Great views of the expanse of Crater Lake!
